Drug offence man fined
Stephen Thomas Bailey, 28, of Grasmere Road, Darlington, admitted possession of cannabis and being drunk and disorderly in the town's Tubwell Row on July 6, when he appeared before Darlington magistrates yesterday. He was fined £100 for the drugs offence, £20 for being drunk and disorderly, and ordered to pay £18 costs.
CASES ADJOURNED: Paul Raper, 19, of Bowen Road, and Lee Vardy, 20, of Harrison Terrace, both Darlington, who are accused of public order offences, had their cases adjourned until August 13 when they appeared before Darlington magistrates yesterday.
DAMAGE ADMITTED: Paul Lodey, 32, of Barningham Street, Darlington, was fined £50, and ordered to pay £50 compensation and £60 costs by Darlington magistrates yesterday, after he admitted damaging a door at his wife's home.
ASSAULT CHARGE: Ajit Tony King, of Surtees Street, Darlington, who is accused of assaulting Dionne Broadbent, had his case adjourned by Darlington magistrates until August 6 yesterday.
TRAFFIC DELAY: Traffic lights are expected to be in operation on the A67 at High Coniscliffe, Darlington, until the beginning of September, while repairs are carried out to a retaining wall.

CAR TAKEN: A Ford Mondeo, registration R738 NHN, was stolen from Raby Road, Ferryhill, on Monday.
BUS ATTACKED: An Arriva bus had its window smashed by a stone in Greenfield Way, Newton Aycliffe, at 12.50pm on Saturday.
TILES SMASHED: Twenty-four tan floor tiles were smashed at the entrance to St Francis Primary School, Newton Aycliffe, at the weekend.
WINDOW BROKEN: A window in the reception classroom at Trimdon Village Infant School was smashed at the weekend.
