AN undertaker, a carpet-fitter, a vet and a retired police inspector will be swapping their workwear on Saturday for sparkling Elvis outfits.
The unlikely group of 12 musicians will be performing Elvis numbers at the Gala theatre on Saturday, with Elvis impersonator Paul Priestley.
The group have decided to do the performance for free in the light of the financial difficulties Durham's theatre has been facing and will be taking to the stage at 7.30pm.
Paul said: "We're all from the Durham area, West Rainton, Ushaw Moor, Shincliffe and Durham. It's the full Elvis package. There's two guitars, a drummer, singers and myself."
Tickets are priced £10 and £8 and are available by ringing the box office on 0191-332 4041.
