AN animal sanctuary is trying to find homes for two dogs.
Whisper is a nine-month-old labrador-collie cross from Hartlepool, which is being cared for by a foster family in Darlington.
Whisper was one of a litter of four offered for adoption. Its siblings have all been rehomed.
The dog has been neutered and vaccinated, and is cat-friendly.
Pauline Wilson, of the National Animal Sanctuary Support League, in Sadberge, near Darlington, said: "Whisper is a nice and friendly family pet. He has lots of energy and needs plenty of exercise, so he would be ideally suited to a country home with garden space for him to run around in. He mixes well with other dogs and is so easy-going that he would have no problems fitting in with a new family."
Toby, a terrier-cross, was abandoned when its owner moved house, and was found outside an empty house in Thornaby by a supporter of the league.
Ms Wilson said: "We do not know how old Toby is, but I would guess he is about four.
"He is a very friendly dog. He likes children and other dogs."
Anyone interested in offering Whisper or Toby a home can contact the National Animal Sanctuary Support League on (01325) 321855 or 07748 268822.
