OLDER people in Derwentside taking part in healthy eating sessions have developed a free recipe booklet with healthier eating advice and practical hands-on cookery.
Other groups of older people have been taking part in tai chi sessions.
The projects have been organised by the Health Promotion Service of Derwentside Primary Care Trust with funding from the Neighbourhood Renewal Fund.
Specialist health promotion service manager Miriam Davidson said: "Older people have a wealth of knowledge when it comes to practical cookery and they combined this with the latest healthy eating advice to create this new recipe booklet."
The booklet will be available from Susan Lee on (01207) 214630. People will also be able to download it from www.health-promotion.org.uk
