A TEENAGER who came to the aid of a stricken pensioner received an award last night.
Armele Cremer, 15, from Marske, dialled 999 after she heard the cries of an 87-year-old woman who had collapsed on her bedroom floor.
She was presented with a Good Citizenship award by Cleveland Police at a ceremony at the force's headquarters.
The ceremony also saw Chief Constable's Commendations awarded to PC Nick Bentley and PC Nick Edgar for tackling a masked knifeman who raided an off-licence at Eston, Middlesbrough.
PC Justin Moffitt received an Assistant Chief Constable's Commendation for negotiating with a knifeman who was holding a woman hostage.
PC Yvonne Ferguson and PC Nigel Home were commended for tracking down a youth who threatened an elderly woman. PC Mark Haworth was commended for his part in the arrest of a man wanted for a knife attack.
Another 37 officers received awards for long service and good conduct
