THE first person kind-hearted Jonny Regan will think of if he walks out of the Big Brother house with the winner's cheque tomorrow night will be his dad.
The 29-year-old firefighter, of Trimdon, County Durham, recently revealed to housemates his heartache after his father slipped into a coma following an accident.
The joker showed his sensitive side when he told fellow contestants how much he loved his parents and how he had been devastated when his father was hurt.
John Regan, 53, a joiner, fractured his skull in five places and was in a coma for a week after falling from a roof.
He also lost his memory for six months.
After he was nursed back to health by his family, John returned to work at the joinery business he owns but cannot work as often as he would like.
If he wins the Big Brother challenge, Jonny will go home with a £70,000 cheque and much more if he lands TV and advertising deals, like other former housemates.
Jonny's mum Margaret, 52, said: "John should not really work, but he does and he gets tired very easily.
"Jonny has always said if he ever comes into money he would give it to his dad so he didn't have to work. That's the kind of lad that he is."
John was moved to tears after hearing Jonny on the Channel 4 show talking about how much his father's accident had affected him.
