VALE of York MP Anne McIntosh has been handed a new role on the Conservative Party's front bench transport team.
She was moved from her old post as a Culture spokeswoman during the reshuffle in which leader Iain Duncan Smith made Theresa May the party's first female chairman.
Carnival cash: A carnival day at Harrogate Ladies College raised more than £1,500 for the Mustard Seed Trust - a charity which organises holidays for children who have never had a real holiday before.
Country fair: The Country and Angling Fair at Wykeham, near Scarborough, will take place on August 17 and 18. Attractions will include hot air balloons, bands, and emergency services display.
CHARITY TARGET: The Muscular Dystrophy Campaign is looking for volunteers to help them raise £100,000. The charity is encouraging people to stage fundraising events or take part in the 4km Bupa Junior Great North Run, in Gateshead on October 5.
