TWO unusual looking brothers are in need of a new home after their owner died.
River and Dodger are 18-month-old Chinese crested dogs which are bald except for tufts of hair on their heads.
The two dogs were taken to Ramshaw Rescue Centre, near Bishop Auckland, this week, after their female owner died and her husband became too ill to look after them.
Kate Wilson, from the centre, said she wanted to see the dogs go to a home where the owner would be able to give them specialist care.
She said: "They need to go to someone who knows what they are talking about, because they can get sunburn.
"They are sweet dogs and well-adjusted. They don't necessarily need to stay together. I know they will get a lot of interest from people visiting, but I would rather they go to somebody who knows about the breed and knows what they are taking on.''
Anyone who would like to give River and Dodger a suitable home can contact Ms Wilson on (01388) 834644.
