A new junior football club scored an instant hit by organising a successful tournament.
Mount Pleasant Rangers JFC have recently been formed in the Cockerton area of Darlington. Age groups up and running are Under-8s, Under-11s and Under-12s and other groups are planned.
Three teams were in action recently when they played in their own tournament at Branksome School.
The final was against Yarm Town Juniors Wanderers and was won by Mount Pleasant Rangers 2-1 (Rangers scorers Nathan Wilson, Matthew Maddison).

At the weekend Rangers Under-11s had three teams in action at a tournament in Nottingham which Rangers Reds won.
The results are as follows:-Rangers Reds beat Bestwood Park Rangers B 3-1 (Dominic Williams 2, Nathan Wilson); Rangers Reds beat Sandacre Town A 3-0 (Nick Petch, Tom Smalley, Dominic Williams); Rangers Reds beat Pelican B 2-1 (Nathan Wilson 2); Rangers Reds beat Rangers Whites C 4-1 (Nick Petch, Matthew Maddison, Johhny Blewitt, Dominic Williams) for a place in the semi-final where they beat Bestwood Park Rangers A 3-0 (Nick Petch, Tom Smalley, Dominic Williams). The final was against Pelican A. Rangers won 2-1 (Nick Petch, Nathan Wilson).
Mount Pleasant Rangers White B lost 4-0 to Pelican A; 1-0 to Bestwood Park Rangers, held Carlton Boys to a 1-1 draw (Ben Turnbull) and beat Sandacre Town B 2-1 (Ben Turnbull, David Johnston).
Mount Pleasant Rangers Whites C lost 1-0 to Pelican B, 1-0 to Sandacre Town, 1-0 to Bestwood Park Rangers B and 4-0 to team-mates Rangers Reds.
