Tow Law Area League: Esh Stag's Head lost the sole right to the top spot when they went down by three points at Tow Law Rose and Crown.
The home side had singles wins from Dorothy Mowbray, Vina Gywnnette, Christine Hammond and Tommy Bruce with the Stag's replying through John Hodgson and Tom March. The home side clinched a good victory when they took two of the three doubles points.
Sunniside Comedian moved up to share top place with the Stag's Head after they beat the visiting Tow Law New Market A by the odd point.
The Comedian and the Stag's lead the table by two points from the New Market B, Newhouse Club and Tow Law Station.

Crook League
Crook Olde Horse Shoe B took advantage of a defeat for the leaders, Crook Mill House to close the gap at the top of the First Division to just one point when they beat the visiting Crook Surtees for the loss of only two points. The Shoe had singles wins from Carl Maddison, Dave Leighton, Peter Clement, Phil Greenup and Kevin Emerson, whilst he Surtees only singles point came from Howard trotter with Alan Tomlinson and Chris Bainbridge adding the doubles. Crook Belle Vue went down by the odd point at Crook Royal Sun A and slipped three points behind the Olde Horse Shoe B.
In the Second Division Crook Jelly's Bar B got off the bottom of the table after beating the visiting Crook Royal Sun B in the decider. The home side had singles wins from Neil Stoker, Dave Moss and Lee Genner with the visitors levelling through Carol Haygarth, Louie Pearson and David Haygarth. In the deciding doubles Jelly's Michael Harker and Lee Genner beat the mother and daughter combination of Nicola Thexton and Denise Pearson.
Willington Market were without a game and slipped into second place one point behind Crook Jelly's Bar A. The Market have a match in hand and are three points ahead of Crook White Swan.

Lanchester King's Head put themselves in a strong position after they beat their hosts at Tow law Dan's Castle B by the odd point. The home side had points from the landlord and landlady, Faff and Angela Suddes but the King's edged to victory with wins from Malcolm Clarke, Rob day and Graeme Thompson. This leaves the King's one point short of the league leaders, Tow Law North Point and level with Hamilton Row Black Horse but with a match in hand of both. Tow Law Rose and Crown are a further three points adrift.
