THE lads and lasses of St Joseph's primary school have just completed their most successful football season ever.
The youngsters at the voluntary aided Roman Catholic school in Stanley have no fewer than four trophies and ended up runners-up in another four competitions. Three members of the successful team also represented Derwentside Boys to bring yet even more glory to the school.
"Our success has been achieved through a great attitude shown by all of the children combined with a tremendous team spirit," said team coach Barry Embleton.
The side won The President's League without dropping a point, the Cannon Gaughan Trophy, the Leadgate Eden Colliery Cup and the Derwentside Primary Schools' Five-a-Side Championship.
