Mount Pleasant Rangers: The under 11s had two teams in action at a tournament at Norton & Stockton this weekend which Rangers "Reds" won convincingly.
Mount Pleasant Rangers "Reds" played Leven and beat them 2-0. Rangers scorers were Nathan Wilson & Ben Turnbull. They then went on to play Thornaby Rovers and after a hard fought game drew 2-2. Rangers scorers were Nathan Wilson & Tom Smalley. In the next game Rangers played St Francis Rangers who they beat 3-0. Rangers scorers were Nathan Wilson 2 and Ben Turnbull. They then played against G Cleveland Hall "B" and won 2-0. Rangers scorers were Nathan Wilson & Owen Raper. They then played a good game against Billingham Hotshots and won 1-0 from a single goal from Matthew York. They then drew against Chester 1-1. Rangers scorer, Nathan Wilson. The excellent football that had been displayed by all took them through to the Quarters and saw them pitched against an on form Norton & Stockton "B" who they beat 2-0. Rangers scorer were Nathan Wilson 2.This secured them a place in the semis against Cleveland Hall "B" who they won 2-0. Rangers scorers were Nathan Wilson & Ben Turnbull. They played against a strong South Tyneside in the final but after some superb football won 3-0. Rangers scorers were Nicky Petch (Capt), Owen Raper & Nathan Wilson who managed to score a total of 10 goals in the tournament.
Mount Pleasant Rangers "Whites" played Eldon Lions who beat them 4-0. They then played against South Tyneside and after a hard fought game lost 3-1. Rangers scorer was Ritchie Hinde.
The next game saw them against Thornaby which ended 2-0 to Thornaby. Rangers then drew 0-0 against Boldon Colts and were defeated 3-0 by California Boys and Belasis.
Auckland & District EBAC Youth League
Newton Aycliffe under-18 football team is to return to the Auckland and District EBAC Youth League, bringing the number of clubs up to eight.
Chilton will be managed by Norman Leighton, while Grant Wilson will manage Newton Aycliffe.
Hathaway and Cope Stokesley League
The Stokesley & District Football League will be starting next season with its strongest membership for some years. 15 sides are definitely committed to the league and a 16th club have made a late application. At this year's AGM, the league increased its constitution to 18 member clubs so two vacancies remain open to any football club wishing to join.
Clubs wishing to join should contact the League Secretary on 01642 596979. New applications will be considered up until August 14.
