TWO artists will experience the culture of Berlin thanks to an £8,000 bursary scheme.
Two university graduates will travel to the German city thanks to The Northern Arts European bursary scheme.
Berlin was chosen because it reflects the renaissance of contemporary art led by Baltic and galleries like Waygood and the Northern Centre for Contemporary Art, as well as North-East universities' strong reputations in the arts.
James Bustard, of Northern Arts, said: "The programme will deliver international exposure for the artists, giving them the chance to live and work in a thriving European community."
Final year art students at universities throughout the North-East will be invited to apply for the bursaries through their tutors.
The successful applicants will be announced in the autumn.
