THE team responsible for a garden makeover presented it to its delighted owner yesterday after completing the work.
After Gerry and Marjorie Cox won a competition set by The Northern Echo Gardening Club column, the team of experts set to work sprucing up their Chester-le-Street garden.
Steve Wilson, of Houghall Enterprises, redesigned it to add more colour and drew up plans for enlarged borders, a summer house-type garden feature and a resurfaced drive, and the work was carried out by Paul Lister and Eddie Timofte, of Wilson Construction.
While all the hard landscaping was completed last month, they have just finished the final stage of putting in about 350 plants of more than 25 different types.
Mr Timofte said: "The last stage was putting in the plants and putting compost around them. We have brightened the drive up as well by putting new gravel on.
"The garden looked good to start with but it's even more beautiful now."
Mr Wilson said: "I'm really pleased with the end result. It looks fantastic."
