A POPULAR prom that was cancelled last year owing to the foot and mouth epidemic is to be re-staged.
Mowbray House, at Kirkby Malzeard, near Ripon, will become an outdoor Royal Albert Hall when Mowbray Proms is staged on the lawns on July 27.
Harrogate Band and New Earswick Operatic Society, from York, will combine to provide the music for the event which will boost funds for nearby St. Andrew's Parish Church.
Gates open at 6pm with the concert running from 7.30pm-10pm. Admission is £10, with under-16s free.
An event spokesman said: "We had to cancel the event last year because of the foot and mouth crisis. But growing attendances over the years have underlined the popularity of the proms."
