A WOMAN was airlifted to hospital with suspected neck and back injuries after her car collided with another vehicle on the A689 near Wynyard village.
Emergency workers were called to the scene just after 5.30pm on Wednesday, after the woman's Renault car crossed the central reservation and collided with an oncoming vehicle. The 35-year-old woman, from Newcastle, was cut free by firefighters and taken to the University Hospital of North Tees in Stockton in the Great North Air Ambulance. No one else was injured.
Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
MODEL EXHIBITION: Model railways will be on show at an exhibition at Redcar and Cleveland College on Saturday and Sunday, August 17 and 18. The show, organised by Cleveland Model Railway Club, is at the college, in Redcar Lane, from 10am to 5pm on both days. Admission is £2.50 or £1.50 for children and pensioners. A family ticket costs £6.50.
MUSICAL MAGIC: Cleveland Accordionaires entertained guests at Hartburn Women's Institute's 15th anniversary in All Saints Church, Hartburn, Stockton. The group also recently performed at their regular venue the Birkdale Senior Citizen's Centre, Bankfields, Eston.
AWASH WITH IDEAS: Youngsters from north Hartlepool will be working with artists to create art inspired by the shoreline.
