SCARY sea monsters came to life at a mask-making workshop in Redcar yesterday.
Five free workshops were held at Kirkleatham Hall Museum during the day and more than 120 children attended.
They created a variety of gruesome masks using cardboard, glitter, crepe paper and recycled materials.
The workshops are part of a series of water-themed summer events to mark the 200th anniversary of Redcar as a lifeboat town.
Event organiser Liz Bates said: "The amount of mess the children left behind shows they definitely had a good time."
Next Thursday there are three treasure map making sessions at the museum at 10am, 12.30pm and 2.30pm.
