RESIDENTS will be given the chance to help shape the future of library services in their town later this week.
Hartlepool Borough Council's award-winning library service will come under the spotlight at a meeting of the Culture and Learning Scrutiny Forum on Thursday at 2pm.
Library officials have until September to submit their annual library plan to the Government, but they are keen to hear the views of local people before the plan is finalised.
Susan Atkinson, borough librarian, said: "Libraries need to ensure they are providing the type of service people want both now and in the future.
"We need the views of local people on all aspects of the library service, but particularly we are interested in opinions about opening hours, books in stock and the use of computers."
