Detectives investigating a violent robbery at a country mansion, which resulted in a wealthy businessman being shot in the head, have made further breakthroughs.
Peter Stephenson, 52, was wounded as he struggled with one of three intruders in the grounds of Kepwick Hall, near Thirsk, North Yorkshire, last Tuesday night.
The armed gang stole a car belonging to Mr Stephenson's daughter, Rachel, before speeding off towards the A19.
But today, police said they had recovered three more credit cards which had been in the silver Peugeot 206. The finds mean a total of five cards have now been recovered from roadside hedges in Hilton, near Yarm.
The car was found on fire last Thursday night in a lane in Stockton-on-the-Forest, near York, and forensics teams are checking it for any potential leads.
Officers from North Yorkshire and Cleveland Police are now liaising on the investigation. Anyone with information should contact a police hotline on (01609) 768060.
