A WALL will have to be dismantled and rebuilt if a proposed garage is built, councillors have said.
Darlington Borough Council's planning committee gave its warning as it approved plans for the detached double garage at 6 Harewood Hill, Darlington.
Councillors expressed concern about the need to alter the corner of a wall to ease access to the garage.
Planning officers said the wall could be rebuilt on a curve, using as many of the original bricks as possible.
Councillor Sheila Brown said the area was part of Old Blackwell and the wall had remained unchanged for years.
