PENSIONERS are being offered a free cookery course to find out about the benefits of healthy eating.
People in Byers Green, near Spennymoor will find out healthy eating can be fun and inexpensive at the sessions, which are being organised by Age Concern Durham County and Bishop Auckland College.
The course starts on Tuesday, September 3, at Byers Green Community Centre, and will run on Tuesdays afterwards for six weeks, from 10am to noon.
Kathleen Young, manager of Age Concern's Sedgefield Locality Office, said: "Our previous cookery courses have proved to be extremely popular, with many participants now feeling more confident about preparing and cooking their own healthy meals.
"There are a limited number of places, and so we invite anyone who wishes to take part to contact us to guarantee a place."
For further information, or to reserve a place, contact Mandy Robinson at Age Concern Durham County's Sedgefield Locality Office, 51 Church Street, Shildon, or telephone (01388) 770505.
