TEN positions for manufacturing apprentices have been created in the region.
Corus is to recruit the ten for its operations on Teesside.
The company, in conjunction with TTE Management & Technical Training, has developed a new apprenticeship based on TTE's two-year student engineering programme.
Craig Evans, Corus spokesman, said: "Corus is delighted to announce these opportunities as it demonstrates our commitment to young people on Teesside."
Apprentices will be selected from TTE's 2002 intake after they have completed 12 months initial training. Successful candidates will complete a further six months training followed by approximately 18 months further training in manufacturing roles on Corus' Teesside site.
John Taylor, operations manager for TTE, said: "TTE is delighted to continue its close working relationship with Corus. This new programme demonstrates TTE's ability to adapt to customer needs, providing them with flexible solutions for management and technical training."
