YOUNGSTERS enjoyed a history lesson with a fun theme yesterday at a North Yorkshire museum.
Rope-making, quilling and an old-fashioned wash day were on the agenda at the Ryedale Folk Museum, at Hutton-le-Hole, near Pickering. Museum volunteer Angela Hadman was on hand to demonstrate ironing Victorian-style. Curator Martin Watts said: "There were historical themes and these varied, depending on the activities." The museum recently launched a £500,000 appeal to carry out major extensions and renovation work.
