TODDLER FUN: Bumps and babies is being held by Sure Start, in Stanley, at 10am on Monday.
Children will be able to see the vehicles used by the emergency and council services at 1.30pm that day at Shield Row Primary School. The organisation is also holding a messy play session at 2pm on Tuesday, in Quaking Houses Community Centre, and there will be a parents and toddler group at 10am on Wednesday, and Creepy Crawlers, at 10am on Thursday, followed by storytime at 1.30pm.
HEAD FOR FIGURES: Stephen Wells, 37, of South Moor, who left school with no qualifications, has gained a first class honours degree in mathematics from the University of Northumbria. He has also been made an honorary member of the Institute of Mathematics.
CHRISTIAN MEETING: The Christian Fellowship is meeting with preacher Bill McMurdo, of Glasgow, at 3pm on Sunday, at Beda House, Tantobie. More details can be obtained from John on (01207) 232470.
LANGUAGE CLASS: Evening classes in beginners' French and Spanish are held in St Bede's RC School, in Lanchester. Organisers are also hoping to start a Swedish course shortly.
