A TOTAL of 56 groups and individuals from across Teesside are celebrating a share in a £74,000 hand-out.
The latest group of awards from Cleveland Community Foundation includes £4,566 to Skelton Youth Forum, which arranges group activities for youngsters in the school holidays.
Other groups to benefit include: Middlesbrough Amateur Boxing Club, which received £2,000, Kiddikins, £1,000, Teesside Hospice Car Foundation, £1,590, Saltburn Aged People's Club, £3,000, North Ormesby Football Club, £4,546, Eston United Football Club, £794, Eston Athletic JFC, £1,873 and Stockton Speech After Stroke Support, £2,600.
Jeff Shaw, chairman of the Skelton Youth Forum, said that the group was set up in 1998 after some youngsters in Skelton told a Police Community Consultation Group that children were fed up of being moved on when they congregated in groups.
He said: "The forum is entirely run by 12 adult volunteers and seven youngsters who help with discos and running a sweet counter.
"We also run a range of sports and this extra money will enable us to hold a family fun day for the whole community."
