SCUBA divers will be taking a dip in a Darlington pond today as part of a summer fair.
The Darlington Dolphins Scuba Diving Club is taking part in the event at Brinkburn Pond, now called Brinkburn Nature Reserve, to promote improvements at the site.
The event will run from 11am to 3pm at the nature reserve, off Hartington Lane.
The fair, run by Darlington Borough Council's Countryside Team, will offer a chance for visitors to join in free games and activities to improve awareness of wildlife.
Countryside community officer Sarah Storey said: "These events bring lots of different people together and are good fun. Everyone can join in to help a good cause and learn, and enjoy themselves at the same time."
The diving club will be surveying the pond while also removing rubbish from areas which are usually difficult to access.
Casting and fishing competitions will also take place for younger people, with the Quaker Angling Centre and the Darlington Angling Centre offering prizes to people taking part.
