PHOTOGRAPHERS have been capturing the landscape of Teeside in a competition.
The public were invited to use cameras and film supplied by The Tees Valley Wildlife Trust to photograph scenes from Coatham Marsh, at Coatham, near Redcar.
Steve Ashton, education officer with the environmentalist group, said there were plans to further improve the environment at Coatham Marsh which backs on to a Corus factory.
He said: "We thought it would be interesting to see what people didn't like and what they did like about the area before we started working on improving it.
"We had about eight adults arrive in the morning and then we had 26 of the youngsters, who were really enthusiastic, in the afternoon. The competition requires people to submit the best and the worst of their own environment across Britain, and we're really looking forward to having a look at what people like and don't like about Coatham Marsh."
Mr Ashton will submit the pictures to the judges for the competition called Your Neighbourhood - A Snapshot of Britain. The pictures will be placed on a website and the best will be displayed in an exhibition at The Lowry in Salford.
