A TEN-YEAR-OLD girl feared missing from home has been found safe and well.

Natasha Shields, of Boxer Court, South Bank, Middlesbrough, was reported missing by her mother in the early hours of Saturday. Later that day she was discovered staying with friends in the area.

DOG RESCUE: Firefighters rescued a dog which got into difficulties in the middle of a pond on Saturday evening. The frightened animal was helped out of the pond, near Hemlington Social Club, in Viewley Hill Avenue, Middlesbrough.

ARCADE BLAZE: An amusement arcade fluorescent sign burst into flames due to an electrical fault. Firefighters were called to Las Vegas, on The Esplanade, Redcar, at about 6.20pm on Friday. No one was hurt.

PAN FIRES: Firefighters extinguished two blazes started by chip pans which had been left on in properties while the occupants were out. The first fire at a flat in Bangor Close, Eston, at about 6.20pm on Friday, caused smoke damage to the kitchen. The second fire was at a house in Angrove Close, Yarm, later that evening and caused damage to the kitchen and an adjoining room.

LANES CLOSED: There will be lane closures for one week from today in Tees Dock Road, Grangetown, near Middlesbrough, while repairs are carried out to pipes suspended from a railway bridge.

TRAFFIC WORKS: Motorists are advised to avoid Darlington Back Lane and Yarm Back Lane, in Stockton, at peak times for the next two weeks, while gas mains works are carried out. Traffic signals will be in place.

BATHROOM JAM: A teenager got trapped in a bathroom after a lock jammed. The girl was freed by firefighters at the house in Ingleby Barwick, Teesside, on Saturday morning.

CAR over: A Volkswagen Polo overturned at a roundabout, but its occupants escaped with minor injuries. The crash happened just after 7pm on Saturday at the roundabout in Green Lane, Yarm. No other vehicles were involved.

COFFEE MORNING: A coffee morning will be held in aid of the Edward Guy Foundation for Hospice Care at Sunnyfield House, Guisborough, on Thursday. The event runs from 9.30am to 12.30pm
