QUIZ fans in Crook are being asked to support a fundraising campaign inspired by a father's fight against heart disease.
Since Joe Hesp died two years ago, his wife Susan and her relatives and friends have donated thousands of pounds to the British Heart Foundation in his memory.
Next month, they are holding a quiz in Crook Cricket Club and are inviting teams of four to enter.
The British Heart Foundation has given a trophy and there are cash prizes for the winners. Rounds are on September 13 and 20, and entries costing £4 per team are accepted until September 6.
On Monday, August 26, the Surtees pub is giving donations from a music afternoon. Bands Fist, Snatch and FM play from 1pm.
The cricket club is planning a family disco on August 17, from 7pm, and a fun afternoon on September 1. To enter the quiz call (01388) 768613 or 0779513470.
