A WOMAN escaped from a potential sex attacker after a passer-by intervened.
The 26-year-old victim was grabbed from behind as she walked along Otley Road, Harrogate, North Yorkshire, on Saturday night.
A man dragged her a short distance on to The Stray, where he unfastened her trousers, but ran off when shouted at by another man.
Police want to hear from the passer-by and anyone who was in the area at 9.20pm.
The offender was about 5ft 6in and of medium build. He was wearing blue trousers.
Police also want to hear from a man seen before the attack, who was in his mid-30s, 5ft 6in, of medium build, with short brown hair, and wearing a red short-sleeved shirt and blue trousers.
