WALKERS stepped out in style yesterday for the launch of an initiative to help people in Middlesbrough get fit.
Tees and North-East Yorkshire NHS Trust is planning to hold guided strolls every fortnight at different locations throughout the town. They will take place on Monday afternoons.
The first Healthy Stepping walk set off from the Macmillan Learning Centre, in Stockton Road, yesterday.
Organiser Sue Barnard said: "The walks are designed for people who enjoy going for short, led walks and making new friends, while getting some exercise at the same time. Each walk will last approximately one hour and there will be free refreshments for those taking part."
Details of the next walk will be announced soon.
