BUDDING cricketers were put through their paces by the experts yesterday as part of a leisure centre's summer of fun.
Fifty children from across the region are being given top tips by Yorkshire Cricket Club coach Phil Staves, as well as senior coach Keith Brett and coach Paul Crof, during a three-day school run by Hambleton Leisure Centre, in Northallerton. The school is one of a number of activities being run by the district council during the holidays, and more than 700 people have participated in events so far. An art day with TV cartoon favourites The Simpsons takes place today and a triathlon day is being held on Thursday.
