A SECOND attempt to persuade planners to sanction the conversion of a pub into housing has failed.
The Bay Horse Inn, at Burnt Yates, used to attract local gastronomes, with meals prepared in the restaurant using products from local farms.
But the owners want to convert the pub into houses. One application has already been rejected and is now the subject of an appeal.
A second - which includes proposals to convert half the property into affordable homes - has also been rejected by Harrogate Borough Council's area planning team.
But because the decision went against the advice of the council's own officers, there will have to be a second discussion at another meeting of the committee.
