STADIUM 2000 in Shildon has become the new home of the South Durham Royals women's football club.
The team, who play in the Northern Women's League, have already arranged pre-season friendlies at the stadium and will play all their home matches at the Sunnydale Leisure Centre venue.
The team are hoping for success in their FA Cup first round qualifying match against Blyth side Newsham on Sunday, September 8.
The club, which also has under-11 and under-15 sides in the Tyne Tees Youth League, is seeking sponsorship. It is also looking for new players and qualified coaches.
Training is held is Thursdays, from 6.30pm to 9.30pm.
