BUDDING pop stars will have the opportunity to appear in a showcase Christmas concert.
Unsigned singers and musicians from across the region are being offered the chance to take to the stage in front of music industry scouts, producers and pop magazine journalists.
The Christmas Cracker event will take place in the Civic Hall, Stanley, on Sunday, December 22.
Organisers, pop web site talentSTAR.biz, hope it will build on the success of a similar event last month.
The previous concert saw more than 25 acts from across Britain and Europe perform, with one Belgian singer offered a record deal as a result.
Concert producer Adam Chetter said: "There are very few places for unsigned talent to perform in a professional environment.
"In the North-East it is especially hard to do so and by putting on shows like this we are aiming for this trend to change."
Auditions for the show will be scheduled during the next few months.
