A DERELICT house where the body of murder victim was discovered has finally been demolished.
Julie Paterson's torso was found dumped in a black bin liner in the garden of the run-down cottage in Polam Lane, Darlington, four years ago, after she was murdered by David Harker. Some of her remains were never found, despite extensive searches.
The demolition, which was ordered by owners Darlington FC, was carried out on Monday. Workers spent a day pulling down the property.
The area is now to be resurfaced for use as a car park.
The club decided to demolish the building for safety reasons after it became a haunt for arsonists and drug-users.
At the time of 31-year-old Ms Paterson's death, detectives carried out a detailed search of the property.
