AN invasion of alarmingly large spiders has forced a wheelchair-bound woman to leave her North-East home.
Bridget Kenny has even been treated with anti-venom after her hand and back began to swell where she was bitten by the hairy intruders - some of which are more than four inches across.
In a scene reminiscent of the blockbuster movie Eight Legged Freaks, the 32-year-old returned to her home in Oakerside Drive, Peterlee, County Durham, to find dozens of the spiders had moved in.
Experts say the creatures, thought to be hybrids of common house spiders and another breed, are not dangerous.
But Bridget has moved out until pest control experts can fumigate the loft where the visitors are thought to be breeding.
