COMPANIES and children from the Darlington area have presented a cheque to the town's St Teresa's Hospice.
The businesses joined schools and other organisations to raise £8,500 as part of the hospice's Go Yellow Campaign in June.
People around the town were encouraged to take part in yellow-themed fundraising events to help support the work of the hospice.
Jane Bradshaw, hospice director, said: "This is a very important part of the hospice's fundraising calendar, and we are delighted that so many people once again supported us. Every penny helps St Teresa's Hospice continue to provide great care and support to those suffering from life-limiting illnesses in and around Darlington."
As well as the presentation to the hospice, Brian Wilson, of Bellburn Lane, Darlington, who won the Go Yellow Day balloon race, received his prize of £100.
