Durham City totalled 105 without losing a wicket but only just defeated South Hetton by one run.
Joel Hughes was seven runs short of a century as he ended with 93 not out and Neil Duffitt carried his bat for 46. When Chris Naylor contributed 45 and David Conway 20 South Hetton were always in with a chance following an exciting finale their innings could only produce 104 for five.
Chester-le-Street lost heavily visiting South Shields for whom David Maughan scored 86 of his team's total of 138 for five. Moore, with 25, was the best that Chester could produce in a total of 79 for four.
Philip Bell made 45 when Gateshead Fell reached 115 for four at Marsden for whom Paul Cassell returned two for 26 in six overs and Martin Quinn two for 34 from the two overs he bowled.
David Stewart with 29 was Marsden's leading run maker and for Gateshead Fell Arkle claimed three wickets for 20 runs.
Stephen Lamb captured three for 26 and Andrew Moir three for eight when Whitburn were dismissed for 82 by neighbours Boldon. The visitors had to work hard for a two wickets victory and were indebted to Richard Potter who finished undefeated on 46 while for Whitburn Ian Elliott return two for 19 and Andrew Turns two for 25.
Despite scoring 128 without loss Burnmoor went down by seven wickets at Sunderland to Ashbrooke. Stuart Haywood was 68 not out and Gareth Davison 35 not out for Burnmoor before Stuart Ferguson carried his bat for 61 and Baines added 32 to the Sunderland reply of 129 for three.
Philadelphia had nine wickets left at Felling who were restricted to 73 for nine when Jon Grant took three for 17, William Orchin three for 22 and Paul Jordison three for 20. Responding Phili coasted to victory as Luke Anderson carried his bat for 39.
Roseberry Group North East Durham League
The first division programme was wiped out, but one fixture in division two was played.
Whiteleas captain Peter Sowdon was rewarded for working on the ground from 7.30am and preparing a playable pitch.
Whiteleas dismissed Bearpark in 11.5 overs for only 36 runs as Chima Baljit claimed a hat-trick in figures of seven for 23 from 5.5 overs. Lee Baxter bowled from the other end and in six overs captured one wicket for 13 runs.
No doubt with an eye on the weather Whiteleas hurried to victory without losing a wicket in just 3.2 overs. Both Scott Baxter and Brian Cauwood hit three boundaries each as the total of 37 for none was quickly accumulated.
Federation Special Durham Senior League Under-15s
The weather played havoc with the final scheduled programme of the season, but two games were played.
Durham City just had the edge on South Hetton by a six runs margin after posting 110 for four which included 34 by Bradley and 27 from Dias.
Maddison with two for 22 was the most productive bowler in the South Hetton attack.
When they replied South Hetton were always in with a chance, but eventually the innings closed on 104 for two when the overs expired. Kyle Bradbury was in top form scoring 46 and Davidson added 30 for South Hetton.
In the other game Eppleton enjoyed a six wickets victory over Seaham Harbour who were all out for 30.
Darlington and
District League
The league cricket scene in the North-East was just about washed out on Saturday.
No play was possible in the Bass Cleveland League or the Langbaurgh League and in the Darlington and District League only one game in Division C went ahead.
Cliffe met Spennithorne and Harmby and after Cliffe posted 111 for four which included 60 by Ian Peacock, Spennithorne and Harmy went on to win losing just four wickets. Their match winner was Wayne Farrow with 56.
* Performance of the week was the wet weather as 17 of the 18 games due to be played fell victim to the rain.
The only game to survive, in Division C, saw Ian Peacock score 60 for Cliffe II against Spennithorne & Harmby for whom Wayne Farrow managed 56.
* The Darlington and District League seven-a-side semi-finals and Final are on Sunday at Middleton St George CC (1.15pm start).
The first semi-final is Haughton v Barningham, the second is Heighington v Barton with the Final starting at approximately 5.15pm.
The Egglestone Cup semi-final takes place on Thursday, August 15 at Darlington CC, Feethams (6pm start) between Rockcliffe Park and Sedgefield.
