The Captain Cook 8s are the champions of the three-man team event, the team which consists of captain Steve Woodier, Kevin Dismore, Ian Corns and Paul Burke, overcame some tough opposition to lift the title.
In the semis they saw off the strong Tables team of Terry Allan, Mick Shaw, Dave Robinson and Kevin Pigott.
Then in the final the Cook 8s were up against the Royal George team of David Kilburn captain, Darren Jones, Billy Badger and Alan Badger. In the first frame Kevin Dismore (Cook) collected two shots and hit a nineball finish.
Dave Kilburn defeated Paul Burke in a frame lasting nearly an hour for 1-1. Steve Woodier was up against Darren Jones and after Darren missed the black and left if safe Woodier stepped in to pot an excellent black for 2-1.
Kevin Dismore was fortunate to get another chance after opponent Dave Kilburn could not take advantage of the two shots and this left Dismore to clear his last three reds and the black for 3-1 to the Cook. Darren Jones pulled one back for the George for 3-2 then Steve Woodier hit a nineball clearance after receiving two shots from Billy Badger for 4-2. Darren Jones again pulled one back for 4-3 but Paul Burke won the eighth frame to give the Cook a 5-3 win.
In league Division One the Cook 8s pulled another point back on leaders Tables. The Cook defeated the Brambles Farm Social Club 6-2. The Cook 8s have now only dropped two points in a possible 28. Tables defeated one of their bogey teams, the Yellow Rose 5-2. S Richardson put Tables 1-0 up but then found themselves 2-1 down after both Simon Holmes and Dave Robinson both missed pots on the black ball to let in their opponents L Brown and M Wardle.
Tables won the last four frames from Shaun Richardson, Kevin Pigott, Mick Shaw and Terry Allan. The White Rose were at home to the Speedway and got off to an excellent start with wins from Craig Hatfield and Heather Morton to lead 2-0 then each frame was a close fought affair with the Rose just running out 4-3 winners.

In Division Two league leaders Crown and Mitre were up against the Smithy and came out close 4-3 winners. The Crown's winners were Gary McDermott back to winning after losing his 21-match unbeaten run. Jimmy Kennedy, Tony Brown and Ian White.
The Red Lion A team are in second place and in their last match defeated Tables B 5-2 with wins from captain Carl Lilse, Louise Hetherington, Marie Waite, Anne Louise Eaton and Dave Eaton.
The Victoria defeated the Kingfisher 6-1 with the only player for the Kingfisher to win was Jamie Woodier. In this match Tony Ellis lost and will be dropped for the first time ever in the Kingfisher team.
