YOUNGSTERS from two Darlington estates ended a series of football events in their communities when they came together to compete yesterday.
Children on the Red Hall and Firthmoor estates have been spending their summer playing football, leading up to the final seven-a-side games yesterday outside Firthmoor Community Centre.
Squads for the games were selected from each estate's top players.
Firthmoor won the eight-to-11-years group game 7-5, and the 12-to-16-years group game 3-2.
The event was funded by Investing In Children, which covered the costs of staging the tournament and providing medals for players.
Kevin Stonehouse and Chris Sowerby, of Darlington Football Club's Football in the Community team, attended to present a signed Quakers shirt to the day's top player.
Organiser Martin Landers, Firthmoor Community Centre development officer, said the event had been well-attended and the youngsters had been well-behaved
