Darlington missed a hatful of chances as they failed to register their first home win of the season against Oxford.
Quakers lost 1-0 to a very defensive visiting side who clearly came to Feethams for a point and went away with three.
Steve Basham scored United's only goal when he capitalised on slack defending from a throw-in to give Oxford the lead in the 45th minute.
Darlington dominated the second half but chance after chance went begging leaving Quakers still searching for their Feethams victory of the season.
