AN 82-year-old woman is appealing for the youngsters who stole the remote control for her mobility carriage to hand it in to police.
The woman was at the community centre in Durham Road, Redcar on Tuesday, between noon and 1pm.
She left her carriage outside and while she was in the centre someone, possibly a child, stole the remote control from a compartment at the side of the carriage.
The woman recently suffered a stroke and needs the remote to open her garage doors.
She said: "It is of no use to anyone, but to replace my garage doors and repair the damage to the seat would cost hundreds of pounds. I would appeal to anyone who knows where my remote control is to contact the police."
Anyone with any information is asked to contact Redcar police on (01642) 302626.
