STOCKTON adult education service and Stockton Blind People's Voice is providing a course to teach sighted people how to read and write in Braille.
The free ten-week course starts next month and will be held at Portrack Community Centre on Wednesdays, from 1pm to 3pm.
It is being held to help employers and service providers meet the needs of their blind or visually impaired customers, and help sighted parents and carers of blind children or adults.
Linda Oliver, who is blind, will tutor the course. She said: "With the Disability Discrimination Act, we are heading for new integration and it is important that sighted people, especially employers and service providers, have some knowledge of Braille."
