TWO supermarket employees swapped church for shopping aisles for a wedding blessing with a difference at the weekend.
Nadine Haining, an administration clerk at the Asda store in South Bank, Teesside, was married to long-term boyfriend Ian Skerne by colleague and lay preacher James Carroll, an Asda store greeter.
Mr Carroll carried out the ceremony at South Bank Mission before the wedding party moved on to the store, where the marriage was blessed under a golden balloon arch in front of shoppers and staff.
The couple, who have been together for five years, wore full bridal costume for the ceremony and arrived in a Rolls Royce.
The new Mrs Skerne said: "I wanted to share our big day with friends I've worked with over the years."
General store manager Barry Thompson said: "This is a wonderful day for Nadine and Ian, and we are delighted that the couple wanted to share their big day with us."
