THE mascot for the Butterwick Children's Hospice enjoyed a wine-tasting session to promote a fundraising fireworks concert on Teesside.
Spike the hedgehog was helping to select the wines for the Tees Barrage Grand Fireworks Concert later this month.
He had been invited to the Wine Warehouse in Cumberland Road, Middlesbrough, where he was joined by representatives from the concert's main sponsors, Barclays.
Joanne Doyle, of Barclays, said: "We all think it's going to be a brilliant evening and to get the chance to choose the wine is even better."
The wines they selected will be on sale at the event at the Tees Barrage next Sunday, where there will be a feast of music including the British Waterways Wind Orchestra performing works from films and children's classics.
The proceeds will go to Stockton's Butterwick Children's Hospice and tickets for the event, at 7.30pm, are on sale from the box office on (01642) 659999.
