LADIES in a pub darts team have held a 12-hour marathon darts session to raise money for a cancer care service.
The Angel Inn ladies team at Gilling West, near Richmond, raised £674 for the Holistic Cancer Care Project, which provides complementary therapies alongside conventional cancer treatments for people from North Yorkshire, Teesside and South West Durham.
The sponsored darts marathon raised money for the Holistic Cancer Care Project, which opens the doors of its purpose-built centre at the James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough, next month.
Organiser Dorothy Halford said: "We all enjoyed the day thoroughly. Hopefully we might make it an annual event."
Sally Lyons, fundraiser for the Holistic Cancer Care Project, said: "Without the generosity of people, such as the Angel Inn ladies darts team, we would be unable to provide the services to our cancer patients and their families throughout the area. We are very grateful to all those who took part and supported them."
