A YOUNG cat found two weeks ago with an injured back leg is in need of a new home.
The black-and-white cat, named Minstrel by staff at Wilson's Veterinary Surgery, in Bishop Auckland, where it is being treated, was discovered in a garden shed in Billy Row, near Crook.
An x-ray revealed that Minstrel had a broken right hip, which is believed to have been the result of a road accident. Following an operation, it has made a full recovery and staff at the surgery are hoping to find it a new home as soon as possible.
Veterinary nurse Penny Blacklock said: "We don't know what she's like with other cats or dogs, but she gets on well with all the people she's come into contact with and has a nice, pleasant nature."
Minstrel is less than two years old and has been spayed. All the veterinary bills have been paid.
Anyone interested in offering Minstrel a home is asked to call (01388) 602707.
