AN event and hospitality management company is celebrating an event of its own - winning a package of investment and business advice from the "angels".
In the past four years, Exclusive Events, in York, has built up a reputation for a variety of events, including corporate hospitality, team building and themed balls.
As the business grew, managing director Fiona Sidwell realised she needed not just added financial investment, but some solid business advice to help it grow even further.
Thanks to the Yorkshire Association of Business Angels - a Harrogate-based association which is made up of successful business people who support new entrepreneurs looking to expand - she found what she was looking for.
Following a presentation at one of the group's regular networking meetings, Ms Sidwell met one of the association's "angels", business advisor Paul Hudson, who agreed to invest in her company, becoming one of Exclusive Events' directors. He has also been acting as a professional mentor.
Mr Hudson already invests in a diverse range of small to medium sized businesses through his link with the group.
As well as investing financially in the business, he will be offering business advice and introducing the company to a wide range of contacts.
Exclusive Events promises original ideas and events that are specifically designed to meet each client's brief and budget, using venues such as Castle Howard and Allerton Castle in Yorkshire, log cabins in the Lakes and manor houses in Jersey.
Clients include major High Street banks, accountancy and audit firms, TV companies and supermarket chains.
Exclusive Events, which employs eight staff, is based at Bootham Terrace, in York.
