A YOUNG cat found two weeks ago with an injured back leg is in need of a new home.
The black-and-white cat, named Minstrel by staff at Wilson's Veterinary Surgery, in Bishop Auckland, where it is being treated, was discovered in a garden shed in Billy Row, near Crook.
An x-ray revealed that Minstrel had a broken right hip, which is believed to have been the result of a road accident. Following an operation, it has made a full recovery and staff at the surgery are hoping to find it a new home as soon as possible.
Veterinary nurse Penny Blacklock said: "All she needs is someone to love her and look after her well. A quiet home would be best so she can relax.
"We don't know what she's like with other cats or dogs, but she gets on well with all the people she's come into contact with and has a nice, pleasant nature."
Minstrel is less than two years old and has been spayed. All the veterinary bills have been paid.
Anyone interested in offering Minstrel a home is asked to call (01388) 602707.
